30 Day Paleo Challenge - 1st Sept to 30th Sept 2011

- Post their food diary daily on this page of the blog using the template below


EXAMPLE FOOD DIARY POST

Monique
Snack – half a banana & 5 almonds
Meal 1 – vegetable omelette, 5 almonds, 4 strawberries, black coffee
Meal 2 – leftover steak & vegetables, fish oil
Snack – 5 almonds & other half of the bannana
Meal 3 – chicken & vegetable stir fry
Water -  2 litres

Rules:

1. Do not eat dairy. This includes butter, cheese (hard and soft), yogurt (even Greek) and milk (including cream in your coffee or tea).

2. Do not eat grains. This includes bread, rice, pasta, cereal, oatmeal, corn and all of those gluten-free pseudo-grains like quinoa and sprouted grains.

3. Do not eat legumes. This includes beans of all kinds (soy, black, kidney, etc.), peas, lentils, and peanuts. (No peanut butter, kids.)

4. Do not eat or add sugar of any kind, real or artificial. No maple syrup, honey, agave nectar, Splenda, Equal, Nutrasweet, xylitol, stevia, etc.

5. Do not eat processed foods. This includes protein shakes, processed bars (like Zone bars), dairy-free creamers, etc. 

6. Do not drink alcohol, in any form.

7. Do not eat white potatoes.

    Water- approx 2L

    *I made Paleo Cinnamon muffins today, were just ok. I think I much prefer using almond meal to coconut flour.

  13. Hey Belinda, chop up bacon, shallots, mushrooms, tomato, add to whisked eggs, finish off with salt, pepper and pour into baking tray and bake :)

  92. CONGRATULATIONS ON FINISHING YOUR LAST DAY OF THE PALEO CHALLENGE!!!

    HERE IS SOME INFO TO HELP YOU STAY HEALTHY FOR LIFE AFTER THE 30 DAYS!

    - Consider staying with your paleo ways 80% of the time, don’t go completely back to your old habits just because the challenge is over. This will be self governing, as you will feel better at the moment and as soon as you introduce a non paleo food you will feel the effects.

    - Keep educating yourself and being aware of what is in the food you are using to fuel your body.

    - Now that you have cleaned out your system, if you do want to have something non paleo, make sure it’s really worth it!

    - It’s best to ingest non paleo foods one food group at a time and notice how dairy makes you feel. if you decide to add it back in, and so on. If you don’t miss certain non-paleo foods then don’t introduce them back into your diet.
